Next Rose Society meeting will be Thursday November 7, 2019
– How to design and build an inexpensive and efficient garden watering system
All year long your roses need lots of water to perform at their best. If you are new to growing roses, want to add a new rose bed, or want to improve an existing rose bed come to this meeting and see how easy and inexpensively you can add a watering system. With a little planning and preparation you can create and potentially automate the irrigation of your bed. Master Rosarian, Tom Burke will provide a hands on and visual display of how to plan and design a system that could also be automated with an inexpensive battery powered timer.
With an irrigation system tailored to your roses, you can provide water to just the roses’ roots without constantly spraying water on their leaves. To help control and prevent fungus from developing on your rose bushes you need to keep them as dry as you can by keeping the water only in the root zone. Just think you can go on vacation and know that your roses will continue to be watered properly in your absence.
