Oct 4th @ 7:00 pm
The Next meeting of the CFRS will be @ 7:00 PM Thursday 10/4/2018 at:
Leu Gardens 1920 N Forest Ave Orlando, Fl.
At each meeting we have wonderful speakers or demonstrations of how to grow or show GREAT Roses in Florida.
The October meeting will feature two very talented and experienced rose and flower arrangers to inspire our upcoming holiday decorations and table centerpieces. We will be introduced to the ancient technique of ‘Ikebana’ arranging presented by long-term student of the art and CFRS member David McCullough. Ikebana arranging is a method where you create beautiful displays using less roses and flowers to fascinate the eye and grace our holiday displays.
In the past we have all been mesmerized by the talents of longtime member and flower arranger, Shirley Kast. Now she will update us on the latest techniques and new products available to make arranging easier and last longer.
Nov 1st @ 7:00 pm
Coming this November 1st we will be quite fortunate to welcome back Robert Bowden, Author and Director of Leu Gardens as our featured speaker. Robert is preparing a program including companion plants for our rose gardens. Robert will also discuss and update us with his dreams for planned changes to the famous Rose Garden and Wedding/Special Occasion destination at Leu Gardens.
What a great time to be a member of The Central Florida Rose Society with all these great programs being planned. We would love to hear from you if there is a program or aspect of our hobby that you would be interested in learning more about. Our wonderful 1st Vice-President, Martha would love the hear from you. Please send your ideas to her at email@example.com.
Remember, it is still quite hot and your roses need to be kept watered frequently and don’t forget to drink lots of water yourself. Any CFRS member can go anytime and click on the Member’s Login location at the top of any website page and see and/or download at least a year’s worth of issues of the Wind Chimes newsletter. It is now time to renew your membership for the coming 2019 year.
